Originally a fishermen village and afterward a favourite spot for English and Russian tourists, Cannes is today a lovely town overlooking the sea, offering many attractions and entertainments.
In the heart of the town, the Suquet, it is possible to admire the rests of the ancient walls, the Cathedral in Gothic-Provencal style, the Castle and the ancient clock-tower. The sea promenade, with the famous “Boulevard de la Croisette”. is ideal for a walk. This charming boulevard, with its palm-trees and the elegant palaces, is considered the main attraction in town, thanks also to the prestigious International Film Festival which takes place here every year.

Not far from the coast and easy to reach by boat are the beautiful Sainte Marguerite and Saint Honorat islands, which offer a wild nature, fine beaches and undiscovered coves where to enjoy the tranquillity of the sea.
