Mentone
The town of Mentone enjoys a particularly mild climate throughout the year.
The town was first discovered by the English tourists in the period of the “Belle Epoque”, and today it is famous for the numerous olive-trees and orange plantations, and for its wonderful gardens. A special mention deserve the “Gardens of Maria Serena”, which plays host to a marvellous collection of palm-trees, and the“Serre de la Madone”, with precious and rare tropical plants.
The suggestive old town is a maze of cobbled streets, ideal for a pleasant walk.
We absolutely recommend to visit the beautiful Baroque basilica of Saint Michel, which parvise offers a magnificent panorama above the Mediterranean sea.
